Our staff is carefully chosen to work with your children. We look
for mature individuals who have experience working with young children, and we
try to maintain a good blend of younger and older caregivers with a broad range
of experience, both educational and practical. We hold First Aid/CPR classes
throughout the year, so that all of our staff become certified. All staff are fingerprinted and information is checked through the
State and FBI per regulations. Our administrators work with all our staff
members to develop curriculum, problem solve, and learn effective teaching and
communication skills. We encourage all of our staff to continue their education
in this field by offering compensation for
workshops and college level classes, and assisting them to apply for scholarship
programs available to them. We provide them with health benefits as well as a
401 K program in order to support them in their long range goals. This support
helps to insure longevity in this field and with our company. We are pleased
that our staff is providing your family with the highest level of service
possible.
Staff turnover in the field of Early Childhood Education is
always a concern both for families and centers. With our commitment and support
to our staff, we hope to minimize turnover rates whenever possible. However, our
field is a highly demanding profession, both physically and emotionally. Some
caregivers find that they are not "cut out" to work in a demanding field. Other
factors relating to turnover are compensation, which we are always trying to
improve, and create a strong balance between affordability of care and
compensation. This is a well known and constant struggle in our field. Work
ethic is another factor related to turnover, and at NEPA, we work very
diligently during the interview process to hire motivated, dedicated educators
and caregivers. We will always be sensitive to the children and families, and
strive to provide consistency of care for our children. Your children will get
to know all of our staff over a period of time, which creates a comfortable
atmosphere when teachers have to assist in other classrooms to cover absences.
We offer many benefits to our staff such as medical coverage, vacation and
personal time, and a retirement savings plan in order to retain highly qualified
individuals. * * All staff are trained in mandated reporting, and are required
by law to report any suspicions of abuse or neglect. They are not required to
have permission from a supervisor to report suspected abuse or neglect.
